What Is Request for Payment (RfP™)?
Request for Payment (RfP™) is a structured, digital invoice sent from a Payee (merchant) to a Payer (customer) using real-time payment networks. When integrated into QuickBooks®, it enables instant and secure billing over FedNow® or RTP® rails — delivered through alias-based channels like mobile, email, and QR codes.
Customers receive a hosted link and approve payment using their preferred bank or method — no delays, no manual processing.

Unlike traditional invoices that require routing and account information, RfP™ uses alias identifiers (email or phone), ensuring privacy and ease of use. Each request includes ISO 20022 XML tags for batch upload and reconciliation, with 145-character unstructured fields for descriptions or secure hosted URLs.
Whether you're running POS, mobile, MOTO, or ecommerce operations, this system allows you to send real-time payment requests — individually or in batches — from within QuickBooks® or any compatible ERP. No delay, no chargeback, just good funds with confirmation.
To create a Request for Payment Service in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can follow these steps:
From the QBO dashboard, click on the "+ New" button and select "Request" from the drop-down menu.
Select "Payment" from the list of request types.
Enter the customer's name and email address in the "Customer" field.
Enter the products or services you are requesting payment for, along with the amount due and any other relevant details.
Under the "Payment options" section, select the payment methods you want to accept, such as "Online bank transfer" or "Credit card".

The customer will receive the payment request by email and can click on the payment link to initiate payment.
Once the payment is received, QuickBooks will automatically update the invoice to show the payment as received.
Note that you can also customize the request template and add your company
logo or other branding elements to create a professional-looking request.
